Vinson & Elkins (V&E) has significantly bolstered its structured finance and securitization practice by hiring two finance lawyers from Latham & Watkins in New York. Loren Finegold, who was the global
vice chair of Latham's structured finance practice for 25 years, joins V&E as its new structured finance leader. He is accompanied by Ed Comber, who has been made partner at V&E after serving as counsel at Latham. Finegold is recognized for pioneering new asset classes and transaction structures, including the first midstream oil and gas securitizations and the first securitizations of hyperscale and colocation data centers and wireless tower ground leases. Comber brings expertise in various asset classes, including oil and gas, GPU financings, shipping containers, and music catalog master trust securitizations. This move follows V&E's earlier hires in its New York finance bench, including Melissa Raciti-Knapp from Freshfields and a three-partner team from Baker Botts and Kirkland & Ellis in Houston.
