Seventh Sense AI has been granted a U.S. patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its technology that integrates face biometrics into chat and messaging applications while maintaining user privacy. The patented system binds
face biometrics without storing facial images, templates, or private keys. Instead, it uses cryptographic tokens derived from a user's face. Messages are encrypted with a public key generated from the recipient's face biometrics and signed with a private key from the sender's face biometrics. Verification and decryption rely on the respective parties' face biometrics. This technology can also be used for deepfake detection by combining facial images with challenge data and for secure account recovery, bypassing vulnerable methods like email resets or SMS messages. According to Seventh Sense Co-founders Varun Chatterji and Ashish Kishwaha, who are named as inventors, the system is designed for decentralized recoverable storage of private data and anonymized, confidential message exchange secured by user biometrics.
