What's Happening?
NexGold Mining has expanded its infill drilling program at the Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia, Canada, from 30,000 meters to 40,000 meters. The company reported high-grade gold intersections, including 12.06 grams per tonne over 6 meters and 3.84
grams per tonne over 18 meters. The drilling focuses on near-surface mineralization within the West and East pits, aiming to upgrade resources from indicated to measured. The program has released results for 154 drill holes, with additional assays pending. This expansion targets the initial years of planned production at Goldboro, with results to be included in a future updated mineral resource estimate.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of the Goldboro drilling program is a strategic move for NexGold Mining, enhancing the project's potential and providing detailed geological data to support future production plans. This development is crucial for the company’s efforts to increase resource confidence and optimize the mine plan. The high-grade results strengthen the project's economic viability, potentially attracting further investment and partnerships. The Goldboro project is a key asset for NexGold, and its success could have positive implications for the local economy in Nova Scotia, contributing to job creation and regional development.
What's Next?
NexGold plans to continue the reverse circulation drilling program into the fourth quarter, with an updated Feasibility Study expected in the third quarter of 2026. The company will integrate the new drilling data into a revised mineral resource estimate, which will inform future development and investment decisions. As the project progresses, NexGold will likely engage with stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and secure necessary approvals for advancing the Goldboro project.
