What's Happening?
SLB and Shearwater GeoServices have initiated the Amapá 3D multi-client seismic survey offshore northern Brazil. This survey targets an underexplored region of the Equatorial Margin, an area that has garnered increased exploration interest after the recent
Morpho hydrocarbon discovery. The project is situated approximately 130 km from the Morpho exploration well. Its primary objective is to expand 3D seismic coverage, enhance subsurface understanding, and improve prospect evaluation across the area. Shearwater is responsible for acquiring high-density broadband seismic data using its Isometrix marine seismic technology aboard the Amazon Warrior. SLB will then process and image this data utilizing advanced workflows, including elastic full-waveform inversion. This collaboration represents one of SLB’s most significant investments in exploration data within the deepwater Atlantic Margin and expands Shearwater’s presence in the multi-client seismic market.
