KIND Snacks has announced a significant achievement in its sustainability efforts by sourcing 50% of its almond supply from farms practicing regenerative agriculture. This milestone is part of the KIND Almond Acres Initiative, a three-year pilot project
launched in 2023 in partnership with ofi, a leader in food and beverage ingredients. The initiative aimed to future-proof KIND's almond sourcing by implementing regenerative practices that improve soil health, resource efficiency, and farm resilience. The pilot, conducted in California, demonstrated that regenerative agriculture can be scaled effectively, delivering measurable environmental benefits such as a 19.5% increase in water use efficiency, a 33% reduction in nitrogen fertilizer use, and a 28% decrease in carbon intensity. These results position KIND well on track to meet its goal of sourcing 100% of its almonds from regenerative farms by 2030.
