What's Happening?
Black Horse Mining has commenced a new phase of exploration at its Mt Egerton Gold Project in Victoria, Australia. The company has mobilized a diamond drill rig to the site and secured necessary permits to re-establish the historic Sister Rose adit. This
initiative is part of a 4,000-meter drilling program across ten holes aimed at enhancing the 3D geological model and exploring deeper parts of the deposit. The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and Resources Victoria have approved the re-establishment of the adit, which historically facilitated ore transport from the Sister Rose mine. The refurbishment of the adit is expected to be completed within two months. Initial results from the maiden drilling program have shown promising gold intersections, although some holes did not reach their target depth.
Why It's Important?
The initiation of this drilling program is significant for Black Horse Mining as it seeks to expand its resource base and improve the geological understanding of the Mt Egerton site. The project's location within the Bendigo Zone, known for its rich gold deposits, underscores its potential economic value. Successful exploration could lead to increased investment and development in the region, potentially boosting local employment and economic activity. The results of this drilling program will be crucial in determining the future viability and expansion of mining operations at Mt Egerton.
What's Next?
Following the completion of the adit refurbishment, Black Horse Mining plans to accurately position the 3D model of the underground workings, which will guide further exploration efforts. The company will continue its drilling program, with results expected to inform future development strategies. Stakeholders, including investors and local communities, will be closely monitoring the outcomes of this exploration phase to assess its impact on the project's progression and potential economic benefits.
