The inaugural Deadfall Trail Races are scheduled to take place on October 17, 2026, within the Brighton Recreation Area. This event, organized by Blackwood Trail Racing, will feature three distances: a 10K, an 18K, and a 25K. The courses are designed

Participants will navigate iconic trails such as Murray Lake, Penosha, Torn Shirt, Kachin, and Bishop Lake, encountering winding singletrack, punchy climbs, flowing descents, and root-covered corners. The event aims to provide a professional, fun, and memorable experience for runners of all levels, with well-stocked aid stations, clearly marked courses, quality swag, unique finisher medals, and enthusiastic volunteers. All three race distances will have a 5-hour cutoff, allowing ample time for participants to complete the course while enjoying the natural surroundings.
