What's Happening?
Florida Gators men's golfers Luke Poulter and Jack Turner have been included in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2027 Preseason Rankings. Poulter is ranked No. 7, while Turner is No. 11. This marks the third consecutive season that Florida has had a golfer featured
in the preseason rankings. Since its inception in 2020, five Gators players have finished in the final rankings, including Fred Biondi (No. 2), Ian Gilligan (No. 4), Ricky Castillo (No. 9), Yuxin Lin (No. 10), and John DuBois (No. 16). Both Poulter and Turner were also named to the Haskins Award Preseason Watch List and received All-American honors from Golf Channel and Golfweek. They are coming off All-American seasons and were the top two stroke average leaders for the Gators. Poulter recently contributed to Team GB&I's victory in the 2026 Walker Cup with a 2-0 singles record.

The PGA TOUR University Ranking Period for the Class of 2027 commenced in Week 23/2025 and is set to conclude on May 31, 2027, following the final round of stroke play at the NCAA Division I Men's National Championship. Throughout this period, Poulter and Turner, along with other collegiate golfers, will compete in eligible tournaments, including NCAA Division I men's team competitions, official PGA Tour tournaments, and select DP World Tour events, to improve their rankings. Their performance in these events will determine their final standing and, consequently, their opportunities for professional tour membership. The Gators, currently ranked No. 1 preseason, will rely on their top players to maintain their strong performance throughout the collegiate season, aiming for both individual and team success.
