Examples include graffiti on a Mintlify billboard stating, 'At least the old billionaires were philantropic,' and a message on an AI agents ad asking, 'How much of the trillion dollar AI economy is going to working-class SF?' Another defaced ad for an AI receptionist read, 'SF hates AI billboars!!!' Some tech founders whose ads have been targeted acknowledge the backlash. Marty Kausas, CEO of Pylon, whose company spent approximately $350,000 on 12 billboards and bus ads, stated he doesn't take the graffiti personally and believes it might even generate publicity. Jaspar Carmichael-Jack, CEO of Artisan, whose 'Stop hiring humans' campaign was frequently defaced, admitted that many of these ads are designed to provoke.
