What's Happening?
Onvo, a convenience-store chain based in Scranton, Pennsylvania, has introduced its first private-label snack product, a line of kettle-cooked potato chips. This new product line is part of Onvo's strategy to expand its culinary offerings and strengthen
its brand identity. The chips are available in five flavors: classic kettle cooked, BBQ waffle, jalapeno cheddar, salt and vinegar, and sour cream and onion. These snacks are now sold at Onvo travel plazas and convenience stores across northeastern Pennsylvania and upstate New York. The launch is accompanied by promotional offers, including a free bag for Onvo Rewards members and various combo deals. Onvo, originally known as Liberty Travel Plazas, rebranded in 2020 to enhance its market presence.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of a private-label snack line by Onvo signifies a strategic move to differentiate itself in the competitive convenience-store market. By offering unique, locally made products, Onvo aims to attract customers seeking high-quality, exclusive snacks. This initiative not only enhances customer loyalty but also strengthens Onvo's brand identity, particularly in its core markets. The focus on Pennsylvania-made products aligns with consumer preferences for local goods, potentially boosting sales and market share. Additionally, the promotional strategies accompanying the launch are designed to increase customer engagement and drive traffic to Onvo locations.
