What's Happening?
German spacecraft component developer deltaVision has raised €10.2 million ($11.6 million) to expand its production capabilities, focusing on valves and related equipment for in-space refueling. The funding round was led by KT Ventures and Valemount Capital,
with participation from Futury Capital and other investors. This investment will enable deltaVision to increase its production to 5,000 units annually, addressing the high demand and supply chain constraints in the space industry. The company plans to develop a modular, interoperable technology stack to support in-orbit refueling, aiming to create an open ecosystem for space services.
Why It's Important?
The successful funding round for deltaVision highlights the growing interest and investment in space infrastructure and services. As the space industry expands, the need for efficient and reliable in-space refueling solutions becomes critical. deltaVision's focus on developing a modular and interoperable technology stack could revolutionize how spacecraft are serviced and maintained in orbit, potentially reducing costs and increasing the longevity of space missions. This development also underscores the importance of international collaboration and investment in advancing space technologies, which could have significant implications for future space exploration and commercialization.
