What's Happening?
AIGIP, the AI Governance & Implementation Program, has introduced a new certification pathway aimed at equipping professionals with the skills needed to manage AI risk. This initiative addresses a significant workforce gap as industries increasingly require
governance over AI systems. The program offers five certification tracks tailored to different professional roles, including executives, risk and compliance professionals, cybersecurity teams, independent business professionals, and government employees. The curriculum is grounded in compliance methodologies from the DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
Why It's Important?
As AI continues to transform job functions across various sectors, the demand for professionals trained in AI governance is growing. This certification program is crucial for ensuring that organizations can manage AI responsibly and align with regulatory requirements. By providing a structured pathway for AI governance, AIGIP is helping to fill a critical skills gap in the workforce. This initiative not only enhances the employability of certified professionals but also supports organizations in mitigating AI-related risks, thereby promoting safer and more effective AI integration across industries.
What's Next?
AIGIP is currently offering complimentary enrollment in its AI Governance Leader and Certified Government AI Leader courses for a limited time. This initiative is expected to attract a wide range of professionals seeking to enhance their skills in AI governance. As more individuals become certified, organizations may increasingly rely on these professionals to guide their AI strategies and ensure compliance with evolving regulations. The program's success could lead to further expansion and adaptation of AI governance training to meet the needs of different sectors.
