What's Happening?
Hyundai Motor Brasil has introduced the i20 as its third domestic model, targeting the growing market segment between hatchbacks and SUVs in Brazil. The i20 is produced at Hyundai's Piracicaba plant in São Paulo and is available in six variants with two
engine options. The vehicle features Hyundai's 'Art of Steel' design and includes advanced technology such as over-the-air software updates and the Bluelink connected-car system. The i20 also comes equipped with the SmartSense safety package, offering features like autonomous emergency braking and lane keeping assistance.
Why It's Important?
The launch of the i20 in Brazil signifies Hyundai's strategic move to capture a larger share of the Brazilian automotive market, which is increasingly favoring vehicles that blend the characteristics of hatchbacks and SUVs. By introducing a model that caters to this demand, Hyundai aims to strengthen its position in a competitive market. The inclusion of advanced technology and safety features in the i20 reflects the growing consumer expectation for connectivity and safety in vehicles, potentially setting new standards in the Brazilian automotive industry.
