Roblox has significantly upgraded its creator tools with the release of RBXMonkey, a new importer/exporter add-on for Blender. This tool, previously known as 'Roblox Animations Importer / Exporter,' now supports direct import of .RBXL and .RBXM files,
offering near 100% fidelity for skinned rigs by internally decoding Roblox's caging and skinning. The update also brings support for terrain, lighting, PBR Materials, MaterialVariants, and Decals, which were previously unavailable through the older .obj importer. This new version allows for importing multiple rigs simultaneously and includes optimizations for handling large scenes, though Blender's limitations may still impact performance. Bug fixes in version 3.0.1 address issues with studs, clothing loading, R15 avatar scaling, sky quality, texture application, transparency, and crashes on certain devices, while also improving material node organization.
