Minor Hotels has announced the development of Avani Kyoto, marking the brand's debut in Japan. The hotel, set to open in 2030, will be located in central Kyoto on the site of the former Kyoto Shimbun headquarters. This project is part of a joint venture
with Taisei Corporation and Heiwa Real Estate Co., Ltd., with Minor Hotels acting as both investor and operator. The development will include the renovation of an existing building and the construction of a new one, offering approximately 240 guest rooms. The design will blend Kyoto's architectural heritage with modern amenities, catering to both short and long-term stays. This initiative is part of Minor Hotels' strategic expansion into Japan, with plans to introduce more hotels under its Anantara, Avani, and Tivoli brands.
