Trail runners from around the world participated in the Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail in Austria and the Thyon-Dixence contest in Switzerland, using these events to prepare for the upcoming Sierre-Zinal race. The Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail, part of the Golden
Trail World Series, featured a challenging 24.5-kilometer course with significant elevation gain. Elhousine Elazzaoui of Morocco emerged victorious in the men's race, while Mădălina Florea of Romania won the women's race. Meanwhile, the Thyon-Dixence race served as a traditional warm-up for Sierre-Zinal, with Philemon Kiriago of Kenya winning the men's race and Jedidah Sang of Kenya taking the women's title.
