Ripple has expanded its XRP Ledger (XRPL) AI developer toolkit to include support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP). This integration provides developers with an additional method to enable autonomous software to pay for data, computing power, and other
digital services using XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD). Version 1.1 of the XRPL AI Starter Kit now supports MPP alongside the Open Wallet Standard, which offers a common interface for managing wallets across various blockchains. MPP was co-developed by payments company Stripe and payments-focused blockchain Tempo. This move follows Ripple's earlier addition of support for x402 in June, indicating a strategy to support multiple machine-payment standards rather than choosing a single one.
