What's Happening?
Scenic Group has unveiled a new river cruise and land touring program in India and Sri Lanka, set to launch in October 2027. The program will feature the Scenic Aura, a boutique ship redesigned for this purpose, offering itineraries ranging from 17 to 25
days. These tours will include a nine-night river cruise along the Hooghly River in West Bengal, India. The program is part of Scenic Group's broader expansion in Asia, with additional ships planned for the Mekong and other regions by 2028. The itineraries are priced from $13,395 per person, with early booking discounts available.
Why It's Important?
This expansion into India and Sri Lanka represents Scenic Group's strategic move to tap into the growing demand for luxury river cruises in Asia. By offering unique cultural experiences and targeting historically significant regions, the company aims to attract high-end travelers seeking immersive travel experiences. The program's launch aligns with Scenic Group's broader strategy to expand its presence in Asia, a region with increasing tourism potential. This move could enhance the company's competitive edge in the luxury travel market and contribute to its long-term growth.
What's Next?
Scenic Group plans to release full itinerary details and updated pricing by November 2026. The company is also preparing for the arrival of additional ships in Asia, which will further expand its offerings in the region. As the launch date approaches, Scenic Group will likely focus on marketing efforts to attract early bookings and capitalize on the growing interest in river cruising in Asia.
