What's Happening?
Travelmarvel has introduced its new European river ship, Rigel, which has officially begun its inaugural sailing. The ship departed from Amsterdam on June 30, embarking on the European Gems itinerary to
Budapest. This marks a significant investment by the APT Travel Group in the expanding European river cruise market. Rigel joins a fleet of four custom-designed vessels, including Polaris, Capella, and Vega, operating on Europe's popular waterways. The ship can accommodate up to 178 guests across 89 cabins and features a crew of 44. It offers amenities such as an open-air Sun Deck with a Jacuzzi, a gym, multiple dining venues, and various suite categories, including Owner’s Suites and French Balcony Suites with electronic slide-down windows.
Why It's Important?
The launch of Rigel represents Travelmarvel's commitment to expanding its presence in the competitive European river cruise market. This move is likely to attract more tourists to European waterways, boosting local economies and the tourism sector. The introduction of modern amenities and diverse suite options enhances the travel experience, potentially increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty. As the demand for river cruises grows, Travelmarvel's investment in new ships could position the company as a leader in the industry, offering unique and luxurious travel experiences.
What's Next?
With Rigel now operational, Travelmarvel plans to welcome more guests aboard, aiming to create memorable experiences across the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers. The company is expected to continue expanding its fleet and enhancing its offerings to meet the growing demand for river cruises. This expansion may lead to increased competition among cruise operators, prompting further innovations and improvements in service quality.
