APR Karate-Do emerged victorious at the 2026 Zanshin Karate Championships held in Kigali from August 7-9. The event, which included both the fourth edition of the Zanshin Karate Championship for Children, Cadets, and Juniors, and the third edition of the Zanshin Seniors
Open Karate Championship, saw participation from 568 athletes across 46 clubs, including competitors from Rwanda and Kenya. The competition featured events in Kata, focusing on technical form, and Kumite, the combat discipline. APR Karate-Do topped the medal standings with eight gold medals, followed by Flying Eagles Karate Club with six, and Unity Karate Academy with three. The championships, organized by Zanshin Sport Solutions in collaboration with the Rwanda Karate Federation, have become a significant platform for developing young talent and providing senior athletes with high-level competition.
