What's Happening?
Oracle Red Bull Racing has extended its collaboration with motorsport memorabilia specialist Memento Exclusives. This expanded partnership focuses on developing officially licensed products for the 2026 regulations era, centered around the RB22. The new
collection includes a full-scale RB22 Show Car, a Team Simulator, a Pit-Stop Rig, and replica car parts. The RB22 Show Car, limited to 10 units, is produced using official team CAD data and features genuine carbon-fiber components, official Pirelli tires, functional steering, working brake lights, and movable wheels. The Pit-Stop Rig is designed for corporate activations, allowing fans to experience a Formula 1 wheel-change. This extension builds on a relationship that began in 2023, which has grown from show car simulators to full-scale show cars and motion simulators. Paul Gandolfi, Chief Commercial Officer for Oracle Red Bull Racing, stated that Memento Exclusives consistently delivers world-class products that authentically represent the brand and innovation of the team, helping to bring fans closer to the team.
Why It's Important?
This partnership is significant for Oracle Red Bull Racing as it broadens the commercial platform around its 2026 campaign, which also marks the debut of Red Bull Ford Powertrains. By offering premium collectibles and fan experiences, Red Bull Racing is leveraging its intellectual property to engage a wider audience and generate additional revenue streams. The availability of items like full-scale show cars and pit-stop rigs provides unique opportunities for fans and collectors to own a piece of the team's history and technology. This strategy not only enhances fan engagement but also strengthens the brand's presence beyond the racetrack. For Memento Exclusives, the extended agreement solidifies its position as a key partner in motorsport memorabilia, allowing it to continue offering exclusive, high-value products to a dedicated fanbase. The initiative also supports the team's overall commercial strategy, which includes partnerships with major brands like Oracle, Visa, and Honda, by creating more avenues for brand interaction and visibility.
What's Next?
Memento Exclusives will continue to develop and release products centered on the RB22 for the 2026 regulations era. These products will be available through F1 Authentics and for elite activations. The partnership aims to further expand the range of officially licensed products and experiences, providing more ways for fans and collectors to engage with Oracle Red Bull Racing. The team will also continue to integrate its expanding partner ecosystem, including Red Bull Ford Powertrains and Oracle, to provide additional platforms for brands to connect with its global fan base. The success of this collaboration could lead to similar initiatives with future car models and technological advancements, further blurring the lines between motorsport and collectible markets. The focus on premium, limited-edition items suggests a continued strategy to cater to high-end collectors and corporate clients.
Beyond the Headlines
This collaboration highlights a growing trend in professional sports where teams are increasingly monetizing their intellectual property through unique fan experiences and high-value collectibles. Beyond merchandise, these offerings create a deeper emotional connection between fans and the team, transforming passive spectators into active participants and owners of a piece of the sport's legacy. The use of official CAD data and genuine components in the RB22 Show Car underscores a commitment to authenticity and quality, which can elevate the perceived value of such collectibles. This approach also reflects a broader shift in how sports brands engage with their audience, moving towards immersive and tangible experiences that extend beyond traditional viewing. The ethical implications revolve around accessibility, as these premium items are often exclusive and expensive, catering to a niche market of affluent fans and collectors, potentially creating a divide in fan engagement based on economic status.
