Allsteel has launched its new Levra task chair, designed in collaboration with ITO Design, which features a patent-pending frameless back architecture made from structural knit material. This innovative design emphasizes both ergonomic engineering and
sustainable materiality. The chair's back is constructed using a precision-knit, zero-waste manufacturing process, meaning the material is 'fit-to-knit' directly to the chair's specifications, eliminating fabric cutting scrap. The knit material itself is composed of 100% recycled materials, including up to 96% post-consumer polyester and up to 4% SEAQUAL® yarn, which is made from upcycled marine litter. Additionally, the back upright, arm uprights, and base of the Levra chair are made from aluminum containing 98% recycled content. The chair is SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certified for low emissions and holds BIFMA LEVEL® 3 certification, the highest achievement level for sustainability performance.
