Renault and Easee have launched the Easee Sun Run, a solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) endurance challenge, aiming to drive from Land’s End to John O’Groats using only solar energy. The challenge, which began on June 20, 2026, involves a Renault 4 E-Tech
electric vehicle charged through an Easee Charge Pro unit connected to solar arrays and portable battery storage. The initiative seeks to demonstrate the viability of renewable energy, battery storage, and smart charging as a cohesive off-grid system. The vehicle features a 52kW/h battery and a 150hp powertrain, with a range of up to 242 miles. A documentary film will be released following the challenge's conclusion.
