Northern California's professional volleyball team, set to debut in Major League Volleyball (MLV) in 2027, has officially announced its name and brand: NorCal Rumble. The team will play at Tech CU Arena in San Jose. The name 'Rumble' is inspired by the natural
forces and spirit of Northern California, aiming to embody the region's bold, creative, and competitive character. The ownership group includes notable figures such as Theresia Gouw, Kerri Walsh Jennings, Vivek Ranadivé, Zaza and Tika Pachulia, and Brad and Andrea Hilsabeck. The branding incorporates elements like a California wildflower with a state flag star, spikes representing a volleyball swing, and a miner's spade-shaped crest, all within a color palette reflecting the region's landscapes. Heather Vaughan, President of NorCal Rumble, emphasized the team's commitment to building a world-class environment for players and fans while growing the sport of volleyball.
