What's Happening?
NBC and Peacock are organizing 'Star-Spangled Sundaes' pop-up events in Atlanta and Los Angeles as part of their 4th of July weekend promotion. These events are scheduled for Friday, ahead of the baseball games for the Braves and Dodgers. Ice cream trucks
will be stationed in both cities, offering complimentary sundaes in themed baseball helmets. The promotion extends to local ice cream shops across 13 MLB markets, where they will serve free sundaes until supplies last. The trucks will be located at The Battery in Atlanta and Downtown Santa Monica in Los Angeles from 12-6 p.m. local time. On Saturday, the trucks will move to drive-in theaters in California and Georgia as part of MLB's Summer Drive-In events.
Why It's Important?
This initiative by NBC and Peacock aims to enhance fan engagement and promote their broadcast of MLB games on Peacock during the holiday weekend. By offering free ice cream, the promotion seeks to attract more viewers and create a festive atmosphere around the baseball games. This strategy not only boosts NBC's visibility but also supports local businesses participating in the event. The collaboration with MLB markets highlights the network's commitment to integrating sports with community activities, potentially increasing viewership and fan loyalty.
