Merrimack College has announced the appointment of Ellen Minzner as its new Director of Rowing, effective September 2. Minzner brings over a decade of coaching experience, including extensive work with USRowing and the United States Paralympic rowing
program. A native of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Minzner has served as head coach of Paralympic disciplines and lead coach for the Boston Training Center since 2013. Her coaching career is marked by significant international success, with U.S. Paralympic crews achieving podium finishes in 11 of the last 14 World Championships or Paralympic Games, including silver medals at the 2016 Rio, 2020 Tokyo, and 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. Minzner is also a decorated athlete, having been a five-time national team member and a two-time World Championship gold medalist. In 2023, she was recognized as the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s Paralympic Coach of the Year.
