James Madison University's men's and women's soccer teams have been recognized with the College Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year, as announced by United Soccer Coaches. This award is given to teams that achieve a composite GPA of at least
3.0 throughout the academic year. The men's team recorded a GPA of 3.07, while the women's team achieved a GPA of 3.47. This marks the second consecutive year that both programs have received this honor. Additionally, several athletes from both teams were named JMU Athletic Director Scholar Athletes, with some also earning spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. The men's team will begin their season against Rider, and the women's team will face NC State, with both matches scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.
