PETValue Philippines Corp. and Republic Cement & Building Materials Inc. have established a Zero Waste to Landfill Partnership. This initiative, formalized on July 3 in General Trias, Cavite, aims to enhance circular economy practices by ensuring that
plastic waste generated during recycling processes is diverted from landfills and repurposed. The partnership aligns with the sustainability goals of the Aboitiz Group and seeks to bolster waste recovery efforts through collaboration between the recycling and cement manufacturing sectors. Under this agreement, plastic components such as caps and labels, separated during PETValue's bottle-to-bottle recycling operations, will be recovered by Republic Cement's resource recovery arm, ecoloop, and co-processed as alternative fuel in cement manufacturing. Republic Cement has already diverted over 1.5 million tons of residual plastic waste from landfills through similar initiatives.
