Israeli startup AIR has initiated flight testing of its production version of the AIR ONE eVTOL aircraft, aiming to commercialize the design under the FAA's new Mosaic rule. The company, led by co-founder and CEO Rani Plaut, has transitioned from a prototype
to a production-ready model, featuring new software and hardware stacks. AIR has already constructed approximately 30 production airframes and established manufacturing facilities in Israel and Florida, each capable of producing around 60 aircraft annually. The company plans to expand its U.S. production capacity to meet higher demand. AIR is also developing an uncrewed cargo variant for defense logistics, which shares significant commonality with the piloted version. The company has secured purchase orders for over 20 cargo aircraft and expects to deliver about 10 this year.
