What's Happening?
The Very Group has expanded its premium beauty offerings by adding Estée Lauder to its lineup, aiming to create a modern, digital-first beauty destination. Sophie Blackledge, head of beauty buying at The Very Group, stated that the expansion is designed
to encourage customers to shop across more categories and build deeper loyalty. The strategy focuses on a curated selection of cult beauty brands and viral products, including ELEMIS, REN Clean Skincare, and Benefit. The expansion is part of a broader effort to convert more of Very's 4.2 million customers by offering them access to prestige beauty brands. The initiative also includes curated bundles and gift-with-purchase options to enhance customer experience and encourage brand discovery.
Why It's Important?
The expansion into premium beauty reflects a strategic move by The Very Group to capture a larger share of the growing online beauty market. By offering high-end brands, Very aims to attract new customers and increase cross-category shopping among existing ones. This approach not only enhances customer loyalty but also positions Very as a competitive player in the digital retail space. The focus on premium beauty aligns with consumer trends favoring quality and brand recognition, potentially driving higher sales and customer retention. For the beauty industry, this move signifies the increasing importance of digital platforms in reaching consumers and the potential for growth in online beauty retail.
