USA Baseball has announced that it will assume management of the Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR) performance standard from the NCAA. This transition is part of an expansion of the USABAT program, which will now include a new category branded
as USA BBCORTM. The move aims to create a unified pathway for baseball bat performance standards, ensuring consistency from youth baseball through the collegiate level. According to USA Baseball Executive Director/CEO Paul Seiler, this change is not about altering performance standards but rather unifying them under a single governing body. The USABAT program, introduced in 2018, has always shared the same wood-like performance standard as BBCOR, and this unification reflects the continuity of standards throughout a player's career.
