SMU Athletics, in collaboration with the SMU Lettermen’s Association, has announced the induction of several notable athletes into the SMU Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Among the inductees is Charles Beasley, a prominent figure in SMU's basketball
history, who played from 1964 to 1967. Beasley was instrumental in securing three Southwest Conference titles for the Mustangs and was recognized as a two-time first-team All-Southwest Conference honoree. His career highlights include leading SMU to the NCAA Tournament for three consecutive seasons and achieving a regional final in 1967. Beasley was also drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in the 1967 NBA Draft and played in the ABA. Other inductees include Windy Dean, a three-time NCAA javelin champion, and Gitta Jensen, a 26-time All-American swimmer. The induction ceremony is scheduled for October 16 at Armstrong Fieldhouse.
