What's Happening?
Blendkit, formerly known as BlenderKit, has expanded its free 3D asset library to include users of Maya, Godot, and Rhino. The library now offers over 22,000 free 3D models, 36,000 free materials, 4,000 free HDRIs, and 1,000 free brushes for commercial
projects. This expansion is facilitated by new experimental add-ons that allow users to browse and download assets directly within their host applications. Previously exclusive to Blender, these assets are now accessible to a broader range of digital content creators, enhancing their ability to produce high-quality visualizations, animations, and VFX projects.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Blendkit's asset library to include Maya, Godot, and Rhino users is a significant development for digital content creators. By providing free access to a vast array of 3D assets, Blendkit empowers artists and studios to enhance their projects without incurring additional costs. This democratization of resources can lead to increased creativity and innovation in the fields of animation, game development, and visual effects. Additionally, the availability of these assets under Royalty-Free and CC0 licenses ensures that creators can use them in commercial projects, potentially reducing production costs and time.
