What's Happening?
Virginia Cadd, a resident of Kanawha County, celebrated her 107th birthday surrounded by friends and family at Harmony at Southridge. Born on August 13, 1919, Cadd has lived in the Kanawha Valley her entire life. She attributes her long life to a combination
of family genetics, a simple diet, and a higher calling. Her daughter, Jeanette Bowen, noted that longevity runs in the family, with Cadd's parents also living to advanced ages. Cadd lived independently until age 100 and drove until she was 97.
Why It's Important?
Cadd's milestone birthday is a testament to the potential for longevity and the factors that contribute to a long, healthy life. Her story highlights the importance of family, lifestyle choices, and community support in achieving a long lifespan. It also serves as an inspiration to others, demonstrating that age is not a barrier to living a fulfilling life. Cadd's celebration brings attention to the growing population of centenarians and the need for supportive services for the elderly.
