What's Happening?
The Kaua'i County Office of Economic Development has announced the opening of the application period for the fiscal year 2026-27 Agricultural Farm Expansion grants. This initiative aims to support projects that expand commercial farming and ranching operations,
enhance local food production, and promote long-term agricultural sustainability on Kaua'i. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations operating bona fide farms or ranches, or those partnering with qualifying local farming and ranching operations. Applications must be submitted online by August 13, 2026, through the county's SMApply Grant Portal. The program will not accept hand-delivered, mailed, emailed, or faxed proposals. Approximately $450,000 is available for distribution, with individual grants ranging from $15,000 to $100,000. The announcement of awards is expected in the week of September 7, 2026, and funded projects will run through October 31, 2027.

Following the application deadline, the Office of Economic Development will review submissions and announce the grant recipients in early September. Successful projects will commence shortly thereafter, contributing to the ongoing development and sustainability of Kaua'i's agricultural sector.
