What's Happening?
Black Cat, a Manchester-based commercial project and building consultancy, has received a multi-million-pound investment from BGF. This financial backing is intended to support Black Cat's ambitious growth plans, which include expanding into new locations
across the UK and Ireland, increasing its workforce, and enhancing client services. As part of the investment deal, Ian Plumb will join Black Cat as a non-executive chair from BGF’s Talent Network. Founded in 2015, Black Cat has established itself as a leading independent building consultancy in the UK, offering services such as building surveying, design, and project management. The company operates across 10 offices nationwide and has grown its team to 91 employees.
Why It's Important?
The investment from BGF is significant as it provides Black Cat with the resources needed to further its expansion and solidify its position in the competitive commercial property market. This move is expected to create new job opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the regions where Black Cat plans to expand. Additionally, the partnership with BGF, known for its long-term investment approach, could enhance Black Cat's strategic capabilities and market reach. The investment aligns with BGF's broader commitment to support high-potential companies in the UK, particularly in the North West, where it has already invested significantly.
What's Next?
With the new investment, Black Cat is poised to accelerate its expansion plans, which may include opening new offices and entering new markets. The company will likely focus on leveraging its enhanced capabilities to capture a larger market share and challenge larger competitors in the sector. Stakeholders, including employees and clients, can expect improved services and potentially more innovative solutions as Black Cat continues to grow. The involvement of Ian Plumb as non-executive chair could also bring new strategic insights and leadership to the company.
