Students from Florida State University's Media and Communication program, studying abroad in Florence, Italy, engaged in volunteer work with Fondazione Angeli del Bello, or the 'Angels of Beauty Foundation.' This non-profit organization is dedicated to
preserving and beautifying the city of Florence. The students' volunteer efforts were directly linked to the theme of their summer magazine, 'Il Ponte,' which focused on 'Reducing Overtourism and Promoting City Beautification.' This initiative allowed students to apply classroom discussions about the impacts of overtourism and the importance of urban aesthetics to a hands-on community service experience. During one event, students spent two hours collecting trash in Giardino Henry Dunant and Torrino di Santa Rosa parks, contributing directly to the cleanliness and preservation of the city they temporarily called home.
