What's Happening?
Stellantis' SRT Performance Division has introduced a new technology called eBoost Air, designed to address turbo lag in the Hurricane inline-6 engine. The eBoost Air system features an electrically powered turbine, or 'e-compressor,' that assists in spooling
the turbochargers more quickly, enhancing engine response. This innovation aims to provide performance similar to supercharged V-8 engines, offering a more immediate power delivery. While currently a concept, the eBoost Air system could potentially allow for larger turbochargers on the Hurricane engine, increasing its power output to rival that of the Hellcat engines.
