What's Happening?
Marriott International and Catalonia Hotels & Resorts have signed agreements to develop all-inclusive resorts in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Zanzibar, Tanzania. The Montego Bay resort will be a conversion of the former Catalonia Montego Bay, featuring 522
rooms and extensive amenities. The Zanzibar project will be a new-build Autograph Collection resort with 271 guestrooms, focusing on wellness. These developments are part of Marriott's strategy to expand its all-inclusive portfolio in key leisure markets across the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa.
Why It's Important?
This expansion underscores Marriott's commitment to growing its presence in the all-inclusive segment, which is increasingly popular among travelers seeking comprehensive vacation experiences. By partnering with Catalonia Hotels, Marriott leverages existing infrastructure and expertise to enhance its offerings in high-demand leisure destinations. This move is likely to strengthen Marriott's competitive position in the global hospitality market, attracting a diverse clientele and driving revenue growth in the all-inclusive sector.
