What's Happening?
Lake Victoria Gold, a Canadian gold developer listed on the TSX-V, has announced a maiden mineral resource estimate for its Tembo gold project in Tanzania. The project, located adjacent to Barrick Mining's Bulyanhulu mine, includes 13.3 million tonnes
of inferred mineral resources grading 1.12 g/t gold for 480,100 contained ounces and 2.69 million tonnes of indicated mineral resources grading 1.16 g/t for 99,700 contained ounces. The Ngula 1 deposit, which hosts a significant portion of the project's resources, will be the focus of a planned drilling program. The company is also exploring a toll-milling initiative with Nyati Resources to process near-surface material from Ngula 1.
Why It's Important?
The declaration of maiden resources at the Tembo project marks a significant milestone for Lake Victoria Gold, transitioning the project from exploration to a defined resource stage. This development enhances the company's asset portfolio and positions it for potential near-term production. The proximity to Barrick's Bulyanhulu mine may offer strategic advantages in terms of infrastructure and potential partnerships. The toll-milling initiative with Nyati Resources could provide a cost-effective processing solution, further supporting the project's economic viability. This announcement may attract investor interest and support the company's growth strategy in the Tanzanian gold sector.
