ORBES, a California-based startup, has introduced its first inspection satellite, Exo-ORB, designed for in-orbit servicing missions. The Exo-ORB is part of ORBES's initiative to provide cost-effective maintenance solutions for large space structures.
The satellite is equipped with high-resolution cameras and propulsion capabilities to perform close-up inspections and maintenance tasks. ORBES plans to launch Exo-ORB on a commercial mission with Symphony Space's Adagio Platform by late 2027 or early 2028. The company is also preparing for a mission to the ISS in early 2027 to validate its internal ORB spacecraft's capabilities.
