diets with mortality from all causes, heart diseases, cancers, and stroke. The study, based on the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-II (CPS-II) cohort of over 988,000 participants, found that limiting red and processed meat intake was associated with small but significant reductions in mortality. Specifically, low red/processed meat intake was linked to a 4% lower risk of death from stroke and a 2%-5% lower risk of cancer mortality across various subgroups. White-meat-only diets showed some association with lower all-cause mortality in certain subgroups and lower cancer mortality among older participants, while vegetarian diets showed few significant associations.
