Bio-Thera Solutions, a biopharmaceutical company based in Guangzhou, China, has commenced a Phase 1 clinical trial for BAT8013, an antibody drug conjugate (ADC) targeting CD25. This trial aims to evaluate the safety and tolerability of BAT8013 in patients
with advanced solid tumors. CD25, also known as interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain, is predominantly expressed on activated T and B cells, regulatory T cells, and various hematologic malignancies. The ADC was developed using Bio-Thera's proprietary technology, which includes a stable and cleavable linker and a small molecule topoisomerase I inhibitor. Preclinical studies have demonstrated BAT8013's stability, safety, and high anti-tumor activity, especially when combined with Bio-Thera's PD-1 inhibitor, BAT1308. The trial is designed to determine the maximum tolerated dose and recommended Phase 2 dose, as well as to assess pharmacokinetics and preliminary efficacy.
