Dawn Aerospace, a New Zealand-Dutch space transportation company, has successfully closed a $25 million Series B funding round, achieving a post-money valuation of $195 million. The funding round was led by Balerion Space Ventures and included participation
from investors in New Zealand, Japan, and the United States, such as Mana Ventures, ANA Future Frontier Fund, and NZVC. The company plans to utilize the new funds to accelerate the development of its Aurora spaceplane and conduct an in-space refueling demonstration. Since its Series A funding in 2022, Dawn Aerospace has significantly increased its revenue and expanded its operations, with over 200 of its propulsion systems now in orbit. The Aurora spaceplane, which reached supersonic speeds in 2024, aims to become the first vehicle to fly above the Kármán line twice in one day by 2027.
