Lizzy Groetsch, a former Division I basketball captain for the Penn Quakers, has transitioned from her athletic career to a role as an Analyst in Macquarie Capital’s Industrials team. Groetsch played four seasons for the Penn Quakers, starting every game
in the 2023–24 season, earning recognition as a College Sports Communicators Academic All District honoree, and being named team captain for the 2024–25 season. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, majoring in Finance and Operations, Information and Decisions (OIDD). Her interest in finance was sparked during a corporate finance internship at U.S. Steel, where she observed the company's use of mergers and acquisitions for evolution. Groetsch's connection with Macquarie began through Penn Athletics, as Macquarie sponsored the team and the Palestra was branded as Macquarie Court during her time as a student-athlete.
