What's Happening?
BotBlox has introduced the Universal PoE Module, an ultra-compact Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector designed for compact embedded systems, robotics, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and industrial applications. This module aims to simplify the integration
of PoE into space-constrained designs by allowing Ethernet wiring to deliver both power and data, thereby reducing cabling and complexity. The module supports up to 90W of power delivery and is compatible with active PoE up to IEEE 802.3bt Type 4, as well as passive PoE for legacy devices. It is designed to address the challenges faced by system integrators due to inconsistent PoE implementation across third-party hardware. The module measures 28 mm x 28 mm x 11 mm, operates in a wide temperature range, and uses rugged connectors for vibration tolerance.
Why It's Important?
The release of the Universal PoE Module is significant for industries relying on compact and efficient power solutions, particularly in robotics and UAVs. By enabling both power and data transmission through a single Ethernet cable, the module reduces the need for additional wiring, which is crucial in space-limited applications. This innovation can lead to cost savings and increased efficiency in the deployment of embedded systems. The module's compatibility with a wide range of PoE standards ensures its applicability across various devices, potentially accelerating the adoption of PoE technology in new and existing systems. This development could benefit manufacturers and integrators by providing a versatile and reliable power solution.
