What's Happening?
Cleghorn Minerals has expanded its mineral exploration portfolio by acquiring 73 mineral claims in the Gaspé Peninsula, Quebec, Canada. These claims, known as the Rocco Copper Prospect, cover an area of
4,156 hectares and were obtained through map designation on NTS Map Sheet 22A/11. The site is located approximately 100 kilometers north of Port-Daniel and southeast of Murdochville, accessible via a network of forestry roads. The newly acquired land is believed to have geological potential for porphyry copper-skarn mineralization, featuring sedimentary rocks from the Ordovician Burnt Jam Brook and White Head formations, as well as rocks from the Devonian Fortin Group and Cap Bon Ami Formation. These geological features are similar to those found at the Gaspé Copper Mountain Mine, a significant copper producer in the past. Although no formal mineral occurrences have been recorded on the Rocco Copper Prospect, historical reports indicate the presence of malachite and other copper minerals.
