Following the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, Audi, along with Aston Martin and Alpine, participated in a crucial two-day tire testing session at the Hungaroring. Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto, representing Audi, played a significant role in the test,
which focused on developing Pirelli's tires for the 2027 Formula 1 season. Bortoleto completed 141 laps, the most of any driver, and recorded the second-fastest lap time of 1:20.813, just behind Alpine's Franco Colapinto. The testing involved evaluating multiple versions of Pirelli's C4 and C5 compounds through both qualifying-style runs and longer race-simulation stints. This session provided Pirelli with essential data to finalize the construction and compound characteristics of the next generation of F1 slick tires.
