The Jabali Academy hosted its 3rd Annual Empowering Minds Gala at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, celebrating leaders in entertainment, sports, education, and philanthropy. The event aimed to support the academy's mission of empowering future
generations through education. Notable honorees included Norm Nixon and Debbie Allen, who received the Carter G. Woodson Cultural Legacy Award for their contributions to arts education through the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. Gina Prince-Bythewood was awarded the James Baldwin Cultural Visionary Award for her work in film and storytelling. The gala also recognized Anthony Anderson with the Jackie Robinson Community Trailblazer Award for his charitable efforts, and Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete with the Marian Wright Edelman Advocacy & Inclusion Award for their advocacy work through the HollyRod Foundation.
