Osmo, an olfactory technology company, is set to auction 10 proprietary fragrance molecules developed through its Olfactory Intelligence platform. This marks the first time such ingredients are being offered through an open auction, providing equal access
to all industry players, including fragrance houses and consumer packaged goods companies. Traditionally, the development of fragrance captives has been a closed process, with ingredients kept internal and not available for sale. Osmo's approach uses AI to screen billions of potential molecules, predicting their smell, intensity, performance, and safety before physical creation. This method has resulted in a pipeline of 43 molecules in under three years, boasting higher success rates and cost efficiency compared to industry norms. The auction will take place at the World Perfumery Congress in Monterey, California, on June 23.
